We see the news of earthquakes, etc. and we like to keep some supplies on hand. Costco had a special display of a rack system for canned goods called Shelf Reliance. We shelled out a few hundred of dollars and hauled home a steel cage with rollers. Pretty cool, we thought!

Reality set in when it was time to put it together. We got past the confusing instructions (by figuring it out ourselves) and started to assemble it row by row. All went well until the top row. We had everything we needed - except the 3 steel crossbars. Huh?  What do we do now?

On the cover of the instruction booklet is a prominent notice: "CONTACT US FIRST!!! If you have damaged or missing parts, please contact us by phone or email". Silly me, I did. I was told "Since you bought it at Costco, you have to go through them, not us". What did Costco have to say? That we only had the option to return the unit for a refund!  And where do we put the cans???

Since Shelf Reliance is in Lindon, Utah and we're right next door in Orem, Utah, we decided to go to their offices. Their web site is very inviting in that regard, and gives good directions to find them, we figured that a face-to-face chat would work best. And how did they treat us and what did they do? Stay tuned for my next entry!
